What makes a city? If you look for images of major cities, you’ll find plenty of skylines and buildings. But not as many images of the city as a place where people live, work, meet and celebrate. And after all, cities are made by people. That’s why we’re asking everyone to share their best photos of the city and the people who live there. Why? To make an online photo exhibition that offers a glimpse of life in some of the world’s biggest cities.
In today’s world of smartphones and photo apps, everyone’s a photographer. That’s why we’re challenging ‘ordinary’ city people to take part in a photo exhibition that captures the lives of urbanites all over the world.
The deadline for photo submissions is May 14th. Selected photos will be featured in the online exhibition. The jury – Frank Hanswijk, photographer, Maartje Luisman, director of SVP Architectuur en Stedenbouw and Rinske Brand – will announce the winning photo in the week of May 29th. Our prize for the winner is a paid urban photography commission.
